Manson Remebers Memorial Day...

Yes, besides the long weekend today is Memorial Day after all, and MM decided to share this lovely picture with us of his own dad Hugh Warner, who was actually in the Vietnam War.

He also added this quote to the Facebook:
"Hugh A. Warner. He made me from his seed. Natural born killers. Memorialize that."

HELL, ETC. in Mexico in Progress...

And this is what we got from Ingrid Barajas´s Twitter, although is like a month old. Anyway, it´s evidence that HELL, ETC. is apparently in progress for the curator, along with other major projects.

Working on the following projects...David La Chapelle, Rankin, Allan Aldridge, Marilyn Manson,
Dan Eldon...D.F., Guadalajara, Argentina, Spain and  more...

You can follow Ingrid at, if you don´t have Twitter, GET ONE!

HELL, ETC to hit Mexico?...

Untitled, one of MM's first paintings circa 1997.

According to a very reliable source, which I can reveal anyway said this:
So I heard that you plan you come back to Mexico with the Hell, ETC., art exhibition ,is that true or is it still in the works?

MM: I'm planning to come back to Mexico sometime soon, the rest you can wait and see.

According to Grupo Reforma, one of the leading newspapers and news agency in the country wrote this:

MÉXICO DF, DF .- For the first time in Mexico, this side of the singer will be unveiled at an exhibition that brings together his recent works.
Oscar Cid de León / Agency Reforma MÉXICO City .- Transgression and darkness are words that define Marilyn Manson. In correspondence with his music, his imagery is governed by a personality that causes rejection while in some other charm. Because, although it is widely recognized within this field, the author of albums like The Golden Age of Grotesque Antichrist Superstar and also paints.

For the first time in Mexico, the latter aspect will be unveiled at an exhibition that seeks to bring together his most recent work. The location is still on track to be confirmed, but the production company that will allow their presence in the country, Ingrid Barajas, advances to take place during the first half of 2011. "Marilyn Manson's painting today, and what is being prepared an exhibition with their latest work. The first seeks to expose some of their parts and work with a Mexican curator (not yet confirmed), "Barajas forward in an interview.

What is sought, he said, for Mexico is to reveal the plastic side of the artist. With this show, the City would become the second Latin American city to expose the plastic task of the musician. Sao Paulo was the first, where in 2007 showed 29 pieces under the title The Flowers of Evil (Les Fleurs Du Mal), in allusion to the classic Charles Baudelaire, poet.Tentatively, Mexico will display the name of Hell, ETC. His own "hell" will be unveiled in at least 50 watercolors, portraits generally disfigured beings, mortuary, in expressions of grief, pain or hopelessness. Barajas say, some of which are mixtures of color with absinthe. This is a technique adopted by chance, when he accidentally rinsed the brush into a  drinking a glass rather do it in the water container that normally occupies.

Barajas, who heads the company 212 Productions, which last year made possible the photographer David LaChapelle exhibition at the Antiguo Colegio de San Ildefonso, admiring the plastic task Manson, who qualifies as a highly intellectual person. "His work reflects that dark side that somehow we all have. He is a person who has learned to express her dark side without an opinion that the person on the bottom line is: a shy, pleasant, quiet, which otherwise externalized when singing. "

Manson's relationship with 212 Productions and was at the beginning of the decade, when in 202 the magazine Flaunt and producer he organized his first exhibition at the Exhibition Center of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles. "The possibility of exhibiting in Mexico enchanted him. He was not looking for it. It is something we proposed, "said Barajas. "He has many followers here. There is a lot of fans that he respects him. Has a group of fans, and even a few of them knew that he was also a painter." Manson, who also has a career as an actor and director film, he began painting in the late 1990s. His relationship with the art gallery also gives, as in Los Angeles owns the Celebritarian Corporation Gallery of Fine Art.

So he said: "A Latin American level, Marilyn Manson and showed their work once in Brazil, although it was a small sample. We, however, are preparing an exhibition of new works, at least 50 pieces or more, generally watercolors. "Ingrid Barajas, Director of 212 Productions

Thanks for the info, MM!
So whether you're art sawy or not this will be one of most anticipated exhibitions tentatively for next year. 212 Productions has also brought some really amazing photographers like David La Chapelle, who has also worked with Manson several times, as well as the Lady Gaga. New Status Update: Sick City

Yeah, saw this status update in the morning , but we can post it anyway. It made me think of the song originally written by the Charles Manson in 1970 and was later recorded by Marilyn Manson in an acoustic version. The cover was not released on any album but was made around the time of "Holywood (in the shadow of the Valley of Death)."

(by Charles Manson)

Sick city, yeah, restless people
Sick city burn their houses down
To make the sky look pretty
What can I do?
I'm just a person
This is a lie we always seem to hear
You just sit and things get worse
Watch tv and drink your beer
Walking all alone
Not going anywhere
Walking all alone
Nobody seems to care
Restless as wind
This town is killing me
Gotta put an end to this
Restless misery
And I'm just one of those restless people
That can never be satisfied with living
In this sick ol' sick ol' sick sick sick city
Might be too late for me to say goodbye
Might be too late to watch this sick ol' city die
Go on the road,
Yeah im gonna try to say
Sick city so long farewell
Goodbye and die.

OK, normally I wouldn´t call this a news or gossip blog but I recently stumbled upon this website which shows Evan and Manson on the set of the upcoming HBO movie "Mildred Pierce".

According to news source

Hard at work on her latest project, Evan Rachel Wood was all dolled up on the set of "Mildred Pierce" in New York City on Friday afternoon (May 28).

Donning quite the adorable pink and black ensemble, the "True Blood" babe got a visit from fiance rocker Marilyn Manson on-set in between the day's shoot.

Also on set was the production's big star, Kate Winslet, who swapped in and out of various wardrobes during the week-ending work duties.

The upcoming HBO movie is about "divorced single mom Mildred Pierce, who decides to open a restaurant business which tears at the already-strained relationship with her her ambitious elder daughter, Veda."

The LOST Symbols Part 2: Triskelion

Round and round we go, where do we stop nobody knows...

The next spinning symbol that´s covered today is the Triskelion. It was picked due to its similarity with the swastika, you know those thingies that Manson likes so much.

The origin of the word triskele or triskelion goes all the way back to greek etymology (Triskelion - τρισκέλιον ) meaning something like "three legs". In Celtic cultures the number three was repeated several times as in this early example:

Celtic Spiral or Triskele, used by Celtic Reconstructionists
and occasionally as a Christian Trinitarian symbol.

A triskelion is the symbol of Brittany, as well as the Isle of Man and Sicily (where it is called trinacria). The Manx and Sicilian triskelia feature three running legs, bent at the knee and conjoined at the crotch area.
The 'Three Legs of Man' triskelion, the national symbol of the Isle of Man

Nazi Germany adopted a variation on the triskelion as the insignia for the 27th SS Volunteer Division Langemarck, composed mainly of Belgian volunteers. Afrikaner Weerstandsbeweging (AWB), a South African white supremacist paramilitary group, have used a flag featuring three black sevens that form a design reminiscent of the triskelion, in a white circle with a red background.

The coat of arms of the German city of Füssen.

This is the logo for Goon Moon, Jeordie White´s (Twiggy) side project. The figure in the center resembles the Triskelion.

Below are other visual examples or variations of how the concept of the swastika and the Triskelion are combined:

Some things we can't explain, but I dare you to click on this website...see what happened when I accidentally misspelled the name of my blog:

Pretty spooky, huh? It's PURE coincidence; the name of my blog was chosen because of the reference to the song "Sweet Dreams", I'm NOT supporting any religion, but I respect them all...

New MM Status: You Be The Judge...

I got his recent status...

Yes, you can look up the word, so for our discretion, we won´t explain what it is, so you be the judge...

Death Metal Band Spawns From "Splatter Sisters"...

According to MTV:

One of the most exciting new projects to surface amidst the many screenings and parties at Cannes Film Festival is "Splatter Sisters," a horror flick set to star Marilyn Manson and Evan Rachel Wood. I'm pretty stoked for it, especially with David Gordon Green and Edward Pressman ("The Crow," "American Psycho") producing. Adam Bhala Lough will direct, following up his stellar 2009 Lil Wayne documentary "The Carter."

As soon as I read about "Splatter Sisters," I wanted to know more. The original report mentions gore, exploitation and a desire to in some way evolve "Skinemax" film, similar to how Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez throw back to the '70s in "Grindhouse." So I put in a call to Pressman's office; not only was he more than happy to talk about "Splatter Sisters," he also connected me with Lough for an in-depth follow-up chat. Pressman's comments are after the jump; check back here tomorrow for a deep dive into Lough's twisted vision.
"The project and Adam Lough were introduced to me by David Gordon Green who I've known since he did 'George Washington,'" Pressman said. "I don't know how old David is, he's less than 30, but he already has a couple of proteges."

"I saw [Adam's] work and thought he was very talented and smart. David and he came up with the idea [for 'Splatter Sisters'] together really." He went on to reveal that Lough pitched the film with a show reel made up of movie clips, including material from "Natural Born Killers," Japanese filmmaker Takeshi Kitano and a number of horror films.

The intent is for "Splatter Sisters" to hearken back to Skinemax-era exploitation. More on this tomorrow, as Lough has a very clear idea of what that means. Speaking to Pressman, it's clear that he has the utmost faith in his director. The next step at this point is bringing it all together.

"We wanted to get the cash set, which we now have," he said. "We've met some people interested in financing it and some music-related companies are interested [as well], so we're right in the middle of arranging the financing with the aim of doing the film this winter. It's got to work around Evan's schedule, and also Marilyn's going on tour, but that seems to be the best [possibility]."

One fact which fans of Manson's music will find very interesting is that he has plans to incorporate those talents into the movie. "Marilyn is a death metal rocker, which is a different kind of music than he's known for. He's going to form a new band for the film... that would record or tour for this new entity," Pressman said.

Also intriguing is the idea of seeing Manson's on-screen chemistry with Wood, to whom he is engaged. "Evan is one of these two Splatter Sisters. They're... totally alienated from their families, who are not good to them, and they take on a vagabond life. They're on the road... to go to Hollywood. They're fans of Marilyn's band and become indoctrinated under his spell in the movie."

Horror + Manson + music= all Hell breaks loose.

The LOST Symbols Part 1: Tursaansydän

So recently someone asked me why did I choose to use the "swastikasquares" logo thingy on this blog. Well, I'll kindly explain. It is actually called Tursaansydän, a Finnish word for "The Heart of Tursas".

It strongly caught my attention due that it was a recent addition to Marilyn Manson's collection of tattoos. Not quite sure the reason why he got in the first place but I can explain its origin.

Orignal Tursaansydän (right) and variation made with four arrows (left)

The tursaansydän (Finnish for "heart of Tursas") or mursunsydän ("heart of the walrus") is an ancient symbol used in Northern Europe. It was especially popular in Lapland. Some say it was used on Lappish shaman drums. The symbol originates from prehistoric times and incorporates a swastika.

The tursaansydän was believed to bring good luck and protect from curses, and was used as a decorative motif on wooden furniture and buildings in Finland. During the 18th century the simple swastika became more popular in Finnish wood decoration than the more complex tursaansydän.

It has been speculated[who?] that the tursaansydän represented a flying and rotating hammer of the thunder god Ukko (in Finland) or Thor (in Scandinavia). It could also have been an image of a lightning ball, like the Russian "thunder marks" (see Perun). Another theory is that it is actually an image of the heart of some being, such as Tursas or the walrus. Based on its many interpretations and uses, this symbol appears to have had many meanings over time.

You may ask, why is there a swastika in there? Well, the truth is this symbol is found by the conjunction of four squares, but it's been found even in the heart of India, Hinduism to be exact, when it was named (from Sanskrit svástika स्वस्तिक) The word Swastika means and consists of the word “Su” which means goodness, nobility, well etc. “Asti” which means being (to be) “Ka” is suffix to make a noun.

svástika स्वस्तिक)

It's found in numerous cultures with variations, such as Greece, Japan, Finland, and many others:

So as you can see, it's more like a universal symbol. Its constant movement could also be linked to that of the spiral, which is moving clockwise:

Spiral, clockwise  and counterclockwise movement, one of nature's oldest symbols
The spiral was used in primitive cultures such as in Celtic designs, based on the spirals that are often seen in nature and is seen as a symbol for creation and growth. Thus, when it spins counterclockwise it's seen more as "introspection". You can also compare it to Manson's spiral heart design.

The spiral incorporated with the heart outline.

Still, the spiral heart can be interpreted both clockwise and counterclockwise, possibly meaning the ups and downs or the highs and lows of emotional situations.

So as you can see most of these symbols have something in common with Tursaansydän. And by the way, the swastika is called Hakaristi in Finnish. Hope this clarifies some doubts.

Thanks a bunch for staying up late, Manson friends, I did have too much fun yesterday, so here's another reason why:

Thank you too, Mansonwiki, you're the best, but this journey isn't over yet!

Sunday, May 23, 2010

Well, I don´t know about you but this Sunday was a little bit different from the rest and now here´s why; yes, as promised the Marilyn Manson was at Jimmy Kimmel tonight and we also found out he went down with his now worldwide famous painting of John Locke. These news were a huge shocker to all LOSTies and is now a huge deal over Twitter.

Though we still ignore details about the upcoming album, we´ll still be looking...

And now more wierdness coming your way...

????? who know, the end of LOST?

It has come to our attention that Naveen is yet another victim of Manson´s jokes, apparently he´s a genuine piece of entertaintment, you can watch the video here:

not quite sure why a chicken salad sandwich would be funny but just to let you know that also happens to be one of our favorite foods, I guess it goes well with everything....

LOST´s finale is only a few hours away...

Now here´s another piece of evidence I found interesting and I know it´s a little bit old but it´s from the Second Season, the episode named "The Lockdown". Manson also referrenced this on his My Space once: the writing on the door revealed after the blacklight comes up..."I AM THE DOOR..."

Saturday, May 22, 2010

There is a huge rumor out there on the Babalon discussion boards that our favorite rockstar will be on Jimmy Kimmel this weekend. This is not confirmed yet but our friends on MansonWiki are betting on it.

Wouldn't surprise us since this wouldn't be the first time Manson appears on this talk show. We're thinking it's a damn good strategy to use America's highest rated show to promote his new material since it's confirmed that Kimmel will be conducting a special with the entire LOST cast named "Aloha to Lost" with one of guest stars Naveen Andrews.

WE KNOW you can watch this season's grand finale of LOST all over the world, ABC thinks this will avoid spoilers and net piracy.

In the meantime for more show schedules look under:

A Theory of How Manson got involved with Lost...

"And the more you watch it, the more you´ll fall in love with it!...."

It was Jacob, not Naveen! Well, probably both anyway...whatever kids, the truth is out there!

NOW, get LOST!

This site is for you, because I know how much you´ve followed and appreciated Marilyn Manson, the man and the band.

Over the past 14 years I´ve been a follower, now I am humble painting in progress, soon to become a work of art. The main goal is to keep Manson´s spirit alive and shout it out as loud as we can because we are Beautiful People who need to be heard. They might call us crazy, goth, emo, weirdos, freaks, maniacs or whatever you wanna call it but sometimes they forget we have a huge heart and a huge brain.

The internet media has had its way to bring the image of Marilyn Manson down again and again, however there are different sides to every story and this blog is one of them; the unexplicable, the unpredictable and uncanny that has been a trademark of this rockstar.
No, we don´t have all the answers, but the idea is to open minds and provoke to make a change, a catharsis so we can no longer be considered Disposable Teens. The power is in your hands; so you decide if you just want to be a fan or become something else so that you can safely say, "he was my mentor, and made me a thinker, a fighter and a leader."

For you, this video by Moby "Beautiful".

Now, get LOST!

Sayid KNOWS Guitar...

Now, most LOST fans would find it hard to believe that "the Naveen Andrews" has joined forces with the infamous lord of darkness Marilyn Manson; for what, you say? Probably music as you can see on the caption of his Facebook pic of the day...

"Naveen Andrews, starring as...Lost-lita"

After a long, hard night of making music with the Marilyn Manson.
You can see some of the performances of Naveen Andrews here to give you a notion of how the new music of Manson will sound like:

We unraveled this little secret for you, now get LOST, but before you do that, some helpful advice:

New Facebook Picture: LOST-lita?...

Marilyn Manson's passion for Lost just won't quit and now Naveen is the victim of his "crimes" as you can see in this pic from his Facebook:

I guess this is what Manson meant to say by "dangerous weekend" and "hanky panky" in his last post , just being a prankster as usual, wouldn't surprise us since he's been doing that since high school...some habits never die...

Keep watching this blog for more fascinating LOST clues...

New MM Status: Get Ready To Bleed This Weekend...

Ooooh, we have detected something "dangerous" will take place this weekend, according to Manson´s status:

And also this phrase showed up on his Facebook:
"I am a shameless panderer of hanky panky"
So keep your eyes and your mind open this weekend!

AP Celebrates 25th Anniversary Featuring Manson And Others...

Latest Marilyn Manson art news:
Alternative Press will celebrate 25th anniversary with L.A. art show featuring work by members of the Pixies, Fall Out Boy, Rancid and others

May 20, 2010
6:01 am

Like serial killers and retired movie stars, musicians tend to like making visual art, and this summer a bunch of the latter will combine forces at Merry Karnowsky Gallery in Hollywood to show their work while they celebrate the 25th anniversary of Alternative Press, the alt-rock music magazine whose posters you see pasted around Los Angeles near the publication date of each new issue.

Among the musicians whose work will be featured at the show, which opens to the public July 10, are:

Adam Jones (Tool), Black Francis (the Pixies), Joby J. Ford (the Bronx), John Gourley (Portugal. The Man), Liz McGrath (Miss Derringer), Marilyn Manson, Matt Skiba (Alkaline Trio), Pete Wentz (Fall Out Boy), Shirley Manson (Garbage), Tim Armstrong (Rancid), Travis McCoy (Gym Class Heroes), and -- who else? -- Shepard Fairey.

Find The Real Treasure...

You still think that 6:19 are beautiful numbers for Marilyn Manson? Look what we found.

With all due respect to Catholics we extracted a passage from the Bible, specially the Gospel according to Matthew 6:19 which reads:

Treasures in Heaven

(Luke 12. 32-34)

6:19 Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal;

6:20 but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not steal.

6:21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
Here, from our point of view is a deep reflection that relates in part to the accumulation of material goods. In this era of high consumerism and cult of the object its's well worth thinking about these words, as we won't keep anything when we are dead. That is, what we have inside, what makes us special is the real treasure and also transcends, and will be present both on Earth and in Heaven.

In the case of what we have seen of the work and life of Manson it could apply to his music, his words and visual art, and maybe something more ....could these be the real treasures and not collectibles and all other paraphernalia?

There are fans who feel one step further accumulating more things than others, when in fact there are non-material things that sometimes do not see, we only see what we need. And when that treasure is revealed to us it's becoming more difficult to assimilate.

A Pink Floyd song that can compare to this reflection is "Money" from "The Dark Side of the Moon" where the phrase
"Money, So They Say, is a root of all evil today"

is paraphrasing the New Testament, I Timothy 6:10,
"because the root of all evil is the love of money, which while some coveted after, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs ."

This is just a personal reflection, which treasures has he left you?

LOST and found...

I believe it was 3 A.M. when this status was updated:

By "Hurly Burly" I think it was a pun for Hurley, which is another one of the characters from "Lost".

Also he uploaded this autographed picture:

I guess this is to show us that everybody, even Manson is a huge fan of something and expresses his admiration for in every single way. Thank you for thinking of us.

New MM! Check out Naveen...

As we deducted a few blogs ago, Manson seems to be revealing little by little his passion for the "Lost" cast, including his painting of John Locke and the collaboration of Naveen Andrews. Now he recently uploaded this pic to his My Space.

My dear friend. A torturer with a song in his heart.

Thanks for sharing your gulity pleasures with us, M!

New Status Update! READY...

May 18th, 2010 Marilyn Manson updated his Myspace status to "ready for anything. mood: handsome"
The excitement keeps building up ladies and gentlemen...

Daily Reflections: The Moon

"Here comes the Moon again..."
("If I Was Your Vampire", MM)

Everyone knows the Moon has a special effect on people, specially when it's full. It's mystery and magic have inspired thousands of stories and songs but on this ocassion we find that it has a special meaning in the imagery of Manson's music

The Moon (XVIII) is the eighteenth trump or Major Arcana card in most traditional Tarot decks. It is used in game playing as well as in divination.

Two large, foreboding pillars are shown. Some see them as tombstones, others relate them to Karma.

A wolf and a domesticated dog howl at the moon.

A crayfish appears in the water.

The Moon is "shedding the moisture of fertilizing dew in great drops". These are numbered 15 in the Rider-Waite deck and are all Yodh-shaped. On this basis, some associate this card with impregnation.
Specific to the Rider- Wait deck:
Very clearly, the figure in the moon is frowning, reflecting displeasure.

The waxing moon has 16 chief rays and 16 secondary rays.

The beasts are a dog and a wolf, which represent "the fears of the natural mind".

The crayfish crawls from the water onto the land.

There is a pathway into the distant, dark unknown.
Some ideas that we can find upon this card are:

Lack of clarity ----- Tension ----- Doubt ----- Fantasy

Deception ----- Psychological conflict ----- Obscured vision

Confusion ----- Illusion ----- Fear ----- Imagination ----- Worry

Romanticism ----- Anxiety ----- Apprehension ----- Unrealistic ideas
The Moon has several phases or cycles, such as New Moon, crescent, First Quarter, Waxing Gibbous, Full Moon, Waning Gibbous, Last Quarter, Crescent and again New Moon. This rotation can also represents a renewal process in the human being or transformation. The idea is illustrated or explored on the CD sleeve of "Antichrist Superstar":
Also the Moon is used in the lyrics of "Cryptorchid" and the album title track "Antichrist Superstar":
"prick you finger, it is done, the Moon has now eclipsed the Sun, angel has spread its wings, the time has come for bitter things."
and it is repeated numerous times in both songs as some kind of invocation, not that has to anything with the Devil but yes a new beginning, a cycle which is like a pattern for the famous Triptych (Antichrist Superstar, Mechanical Animals and Holywood). Each of the identities he has experiments a rise and a fall, death and rebirth. The same concept has been used frequently in Alejandro Jodorowsky's work, specially in El Topo.
In "If I Was Your Vampire", the first track of "Eat Me, Drink Me" it begins with a suspicious hour of Christmas morning: 6:19
"6:19 and I know I'm ready..."
If we analyze this through Numerology, it would be: 6 + 1 + 9 = 16 and this sum reduced to one digit would be 7.
Remember these lyrics?
"when a boy is still a worm it's hard to learn the number 7."
 (Cryptorchid, 1996)
Seven has been a  favorite cabalistic number for centuries, why? The actual comes from the Hebrew, seven ([b'v, - Sheh'-bah) is from a root word meaning to be complete or full, as in Full Moon
The song continues:
"here comes the Moon again,"
which could be an analogy for a new beginning.
Is it really time for a new beginning in MM's career  6:19? or June 19th? It's only a suggestion...

6:19 And I Know I´m Ready...

At approximately 6:19 CST I found out this little status update on Marilyn Manson´s My Space:

Now, I wouldn´t like to speculate that "High End of High" is official title of the album since the fans have been juggling several titles and even cover art. Hope that this is a sign of something good.

Some of us are already that the release date might land on June, 6:19 could stand for June 19 and it has some resonance with the song named "If I Was Your Vampire" and since Manson has always been using numerology ever since the band came...start making your bets!

You Pretty Face Is Going To Hell, ETC...

Most Manson fans found it quite amusing and sort of trendy this leather jacket with the legend "HELL, ETC." which he has taken as some sort of new mantra, also using to name his most recent art show in Athens, Greece.

However this is not the first time someone has had this idea. HIM's frontman Ville Vallo came up with this design in a video named "In Joy and Sorrow" from the album "Deep Shadows and Brilliant Highlights". However the original phrase was "Your Pretty Face Is Going To Hell".

The title makes reference to a song from Iggy and the Stooges, "Raw Power" which came out in 1973. The song had an alternate name which was "Hard To Beat". "Raw Power" is listed among the top 500 greatest albums of all time according to Rolling Stone.

Another cool thing is that the title of the song was used for a book by Dave Thompson named "Your Pretty Face Is Going To Hell: The Dangerous Glitter of David Bowie, Iggy Pop, and Lou Reed" which can be found online

A review of the book:

When Lou Reed and Iggy Pop first met David Bowie in the fall of 1971, Bowie was just another English musician passing through New York City. Lou was still recovering from the collapse of the Velvet Underground, and Iggy had already been branded a loser... Yet within two years they completely changed the face of popular music with a decadent glamour and street-level vibe. With Bowie producing, Reed's Transformer album was a worldwide hit, spinning off the sleazy street anthem “Walk on the Wild Side.” Iggy's Raw Power, mixed by Bowie, provided the mean-spirited, high-octane blueprint for Punk. Bowie boosted elements from both Iggy and Reed to create his gender-bending rock idol Ziggy Stardust.

Your Pretty Face Is Going to Hell is the story of this friendship and the incredible productivity and debauchery that emerged from it. Presented here for the very first time are their stories interwoven in a triple helix of sexuality, glam rock, and drugs – as seen through the eyes of the people who made it happen.

(source: Wikipedia, Backbeat Books)

Below the lyrics to the song:

"Your Pretty Face Is Going To Hell"
(written by the Stooges)

Awwright! Woooohhhh!

A pretty face and a dirty love
knew right away that I had to get my hooks in you
yeah yeah yeah
I'm running low on memories
If you wanna make a buck boy, you gotta be a tease, uhuh
I say yeah yeah

I need it all, baby, that's no lie
I need a lover with an alibi
I wanna fall into a love so sweet
Honey baby baby I'm hard to beat

A pound of flesh and a touch of bone
Smells in the air and I'm feeling so alone, uhuh
I say yeah yeah
Hallucination true romance
I needed love but I only got a chance, uhuh
That ain't all

I'll tell ya honey it's a crying shame
All the pretty girls they look the same
I wanna fall into a love so sweet
Honey baby baby I'm hard to beat

Wooooh hey hey
Your pretty face is going to hell
Your pretty face is going to hell
Honey honey I can tell
Your pretty face is going to HELL!!!!

A pretty face and a dirty love
knew right away that I had to get my hooks in you
I say yeah yeah
I'm running low on my memories
If you wanna make a buck, boy, you gotta be a tease,
uhuh and that ain't all
I say yeah yeah

I need it all, baby, that's no lie
I need a lover with an alibi
I wanna fall into a love so sweet
Honey baby baby I'm hard to beat

Woooh yeah hey
Your pretty face is going to hell....

Since Manson has declared several times of being an Iggy Pop admirer as well as Ville Valo, the question is who copied who? You be the judge...

Marilyn Manson and Evan to Star In "Splatter Sisters"

Earlier we ´fished´out from Manson´s My Space this bloody little picture:

It was quoted

after my shoot with Adam Lough (the Carter). Inspirational work for his film, The Splatter Sisters.

According to

Veteran producer Edward R. Pressman and filmmaker David Gordon Green are teaming to produce Adam Bhala Lough's retro slasher film "Splatter Sisters," with Marilyn Manson and Evan Rachel Wood attached to star.
Film, penned by Lough, is the first in a planned franchise and is a sexploitation-serial-killer-slasher-road-movie circa 1989.

Lough ("Bomb the System") reckons "Splatter Sisters" could create a subgenre, which he calls "Skinemax Cinema," based on the direct-to-cable movies of his childhood.

Green ("Pineapple Express," "Your Highness") said while Lough's film is inspired by the horror classics of the 1980s, it has a fresh spin that raises the bar.

"This is a role Marilyn Manson was born to play, and with Evan Rachel Wood bringing dramatic gravity to the ensemble, I have no doubt this will take the horror genre to a new level," Green said.

"Splatter Sisters" was announced in Cannes. Pressman is at the fest for the world preem of 20th Century Fox's "Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps." He is one of the producers of helmer Oliver Stone's sequel.

"Lough's unique talent and energy will make 'Splatter Sisters' a very special and markedly commercial film," Pressman said. "I've always been attracted to smart movies about killers made by directors with a real vision,"

Wood last starred on the bigscreen in Woody Allen's "Whatever Works," which was released in 2009.

WOW Unraveled

Torture-production-orientation film created in a very different time. First used to write the song WoW, circa 2008
(MM, 2010)

So is this really a new video that Marilyn Manson was trying to show us, or something to keep us entertained while we wait for his new album?

The truth is; yes and no. See, this film footage was just used as inspirational material to write the song back in 2008. So let's take a look at this evidence to see how far we can go.

The track emphasizes the use of the word "wow" and wears it out as much as possible. However what Manson might have meant to say is that is not the traditional expression we use everyday when we seem amazed.

Below are other synonyms for WOW

at the end, the concept "torture" is implied, and here's another reason why:

There’s a word that’s like you
Because it can be a noun, a verb, a exclamation, or the thing I say
(from WoW, the High End of Low)

Again "WOW" is extended to other possible definitions. One of Manson's favorite movie directors, Gaspar Noe came out with a film in 2002 named "Irreversible".The film also uses extremely low-frequency sound during the opening twenty to thirty minutes to create a state of disorientation and unease in the audience, including the nine minute rape scene. This could also match the sound of this song.

it doesn't matter how many times I say it, it never gets old...
(from WoW, the High End of Low)

The word "wow" is also known in grammar as a palindrome, words that are spelled the same both forwards and backwards. Curiously, exceptional or gifted people play with palindromes, this reminds me of the movie "Little Man Tate" starring Jodie Foster where this is shown.

Take a look at this example that begins and ends with "W"

"Won't I panic in a pit now"

When the word is physically inverted it spells "MOM". Also, Manson had this word tattooed into one of his wrists.

Psychological torture in a few words.

That fascinating part about this clip are the multiple visual references. I instantly remembered while watching Evan twirling the strap in her dress in a very naive mood the image of Elizabeth Short in the Black Dahlia.

Manson already did several 'tribute' paintings to the actress who was inmortalized by her gruesome murder and not her films. In the evidence found at the scene of the crime her cheeks were slit to resemble a bigger smile, (also known as the Glasgow Smile)and you can see it the smeared lipstick in the "WOW" video.

Mia Kirshner as Elizabeth Short, nicknamed "The Black Dahlia".

You might also want to know that the movie of "The Black Dahlia" from 2006 opens with what appears to be a screen test for newcomer Elizabeth Short who apparently seeks fortune and fame in los Angeles. Here you can observe she has a sort of girly, innocent posing.

Over the past month on April 2, 2010,Manson was mentioned in Perou's secret diary to have used other films as inspirational material for his album such as Werner Herzog's "The Bad Lieutenant".

So what's for the future M? Don't keep us waiting too long "or else" and I quote we'll grow the meantime treat yourselves with these great movies:

The Black Dahlia, 2006, by Brian de Palma.

The Bad Lieutenant, 1993, by Werner Herzog.

Gottfried Helnwein Mentions Phantasmagoria Film Project

Now that some of you "news hungry" Manson fans have grown more curious about the future of his abandonded film project from 2004 "Phantasmagoria: the Visions of Lewis Carroll", here's another link from another artist, Gotfried Helnwein.

Not much detail is mentioned, but he is listed as a character, Evil Physician who is the man in the surgical mask from some of the trailer scenes.

Helnwein is concerned primarily with psychological and sociological anxiety, historical issues and political topics. As a result of this, his work is often considered provocative and controversial
